The Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office is comprised of eight divisions; criminal, civil, grand jury, appellate, tax, juvenile, children services and child support enforcement. Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys provide the necessary legal services to each division.
The office also employs support staff, victim/witness advocates and investigators for the operation of the respective divisions.
Attorney Dennis Will became the elected Lorain County Prosecutor on January 1, 2005 and is serving his second four-year term. Prosecutor Will’s background includes twenty five years as an Elyria police officer, one year as a Lorain County Sheriff’s deputy, one year as the Sheffield Village Prosecutor, and fifteen years as an Assistant Lorain County Prosecutor. Prosecutor Will is a veteran who served four years in the United States Marine Corp., is a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, Lorain County Community College, Heidelberg College, and received his Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University, Marshall College of Law in 1986.
